Cheesy Baked Rice With Vegetables

Indian Cooking Recipe : Cheesy Baked Rice With Vegetables

Ingredients:
For the rice :
2 teacups cooked rice
1 tbsp butter
½ teacup milk
salt to taste

For the Sauce :
3 teacups milk
1½ teacups water
1 onion, chopped
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp maida
2 green chillies, chopped
2 tbsp grated cheese
salt to taste

Other ingredients :
2 teacups mixed boiled vegetables (french beans, carrots, cauliflower, green peas)
4 tbsp grated cheese

Method :
For the rice :
Heat the butter. Put the rice, milk and salt and cook for a few minutes.

For the sauce :
Heat the butter and sauté the onion for 1 minute.
Add the plain flour and green chillies. Fry for a few minutes.
Add the milk, water and salt. Go on stirring until the mixture becomes thick.
Add the cheese.

How to proceed :
Add 2 teacups of the sauce to the vegetables and mix well.
Spread a little of the balance sauce on a greased baking dish. Spread all the rice and then the remaining sauce.
Cover with the cheese and bake in a hot oven at 450ºF for 20 minutes.
Serve hot.
