Indian Cooking Recipe : Jackfruit And Potato Chops
500 gm potato
1 tsp chilli powder
400 gm green jackfruit
1 medium-sized onion
3 green chillies (cut into pieces)
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp maida (flour)
breadcrumbs for coating the chops
oil for frying the chops
salt to taste
Boil, peel and mash the potatoes. Add salt and chilli powder and keep aside.
Peel the jackfruit and remove the seeds. Boil the jackfruit in salted water
till it is just tender and mushy. Drain out water and keep aside. Peel and slice
the onion till it turns golden brown.
Mix in the jackfruit pieces, green chillies, salt to taste and the cinnamon
mixture. Stir for 2-3 minutes. Remove from fire and keep aside.
Divide the potato mixture into different portions. Take one portion of the potato
mixture, place a portion of the jackfruit mixture in the centre and shape into
a circular chop. Prepare all the chops in this way. Heat oil and fry the chops
a few at a time till they are golden brown.
